Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT)
• the Air Force Common Admission Test is conducted by the Air Force Selection Board for the recruitment ground and flying staff.
Nationality
Candidates must be a citizen of India
- Candidates must be below 25 years and should be unmarried
- Widows/Widowers and divorcees (with or without encumbrances) below 25 years are also not eligible
- Married candidates above 25 years can apply, but during the training period they will not be provided separate accommodation for the spouse
Conducted twice a year, usually in February and August.
Eligibility Criteria
• Age: 20 to 26 years (for flying branch: 20-24 years).Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry : The age of candidates should be between 20 and 24 years. The upper age limit of candidates having a valid and current commercial pilot license issued by DGCA is relaxed upto 26 years
Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch :Candidates must be aged between 20 and 26 years.
Education:
o For Flying Branch: Graduation with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.
o For Ground Duty (Technical): B.E./B.Tech or equivalent.
o For Ground Duty (Non-Technical): Graduation with relevant subjects.
Exam Pattern
• Stages: Written Exam followed by AFSB (Air Force Selection Board) Interview.
• Written Exam:
Subjects: General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test.
Total Marks: 300.
Duration: 2 hours.
Subjects:
General Awareness: 20 questions (60 marks)
Verbal Ability in English: 30 questions (90 marks)
Numerical Ability: 15 questions (45 marks)
Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test: 35 questions
Total Questions: 100 questions& 300 marks
Medical Examination
• Candidates recommended by the SSB undergo a thorough medical examination to assess their physical and mental fitness.
Physical Standards (For Females and Male)
a. Height. The minimum height acceptable for various branches are as follows:-
a. Flying Branch - 162.5 cm
b. Other Branches - 152 cm
